TRASCO Bremen GmbH in cooperation with Jaguar Land Rover Limited are proud to announce the A-Kip® Land Rover Defender 110 Protected exclusively by Trasco. Jaguar Land Rover Limited has officially granted Trasco Bremen GmbH the status of “Accredited Converter” for the Land Rover Defender 110 A-Kip®

Many firms assert that they work with big car brands. TRASCO, however, is among the very few firms which can proudly state to be actually part in official agreements. The Jaguar Land Rover group awarded our company with the ‚Accredited Converter’ seal of approval:

It has officially and exclusively authorised us as to manufacture A-Kip® Lightweight protected Land Rover Defender 110 models. This agreement is the result of a long-term process requiring a constant exchange of information and data between engineers from the British automotive firm and our design team.

Lightweight Anti-Kidnapping Concept

A fully heavy armoured vehicle may provide the highest level of protection however does come with some disadvantages, a heavy armoured vehicle has a substantial weight increase over a standard vehicle and the performance and handling requires a highly skilled and trained driver. A fully heavy armoured vehicle can be distinguished from a standard vehicle, thereby attracting potentially unwanted attention, also a fully heavy armoured vehicle has a considerably higher price point.

Designed for your safety

A-Kip® Lightweight ballistic vehicle protection draws certain parallels to the common ballistic vest. A ballistic vest does not provide the wearer with complete protection but does protect the critical parts of a person’s body. A ballistic vest can be worn discreetly under normal clothing, the wearer is not hindered by excessive weight and therefore remains agile and mobile.

Reliable & cost-effecive protection

The Trasco A-Kip® concept provides considerably more protection than a ballistic vest but the principles remain the same whereby, as a result of the lightweight protection concept, the vehicle retains all its original performance and handling characteristics, the critical areas of the vehicle have comprehensive Ballistic protection and through its application offers a cost-effective protection solution. Discretion is often the best form of defence, A-Kip® is inconspicuous by design therefore allowing the vehicle to blend in with normal traffic as the vehicle is virtually indistinguishable from a standard vehicle.

  • All Door Glass is protected with Ballistic Glass certified in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6
  • Front windscreen is protected with Ballistic Glass certified in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6
  • Main roof area including Alpine window is protected with Ballistic steel and/or special composite
    materials certified in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6
  • All front and rear side doors are protected with certified Ballistic materials in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6
  • Rear protection by Ballistic partition wall with integrated Ballistic glass window situated behind rear seats. All materials certified in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6.
  • Underbody fragmentation blast protection in floor footwell area.

Roof

Main roof area including Alpine window is protected with Ballistic steel and/or special composite materials certified in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6 in 30° attack angle.

Rear Partition Wall

Rear protection by Ballistic partition wall with integrated Ballistic glass window situated behind rear seats. All materials certified in VPAM 4 or VPAM 6.

Systems Control Panel 

Optionally available Intercom system, siren and other systems can be included. This allows vehicle occupants to communicate with anyone outside the vehicle.

Fire Suppression system

The vehicle can be fitted with the optional engine bay fire suppression system with manual and automatic deployment.

Ballistic Tests & Certification

All protection components installed in the vehicle are generally tested and certified by a German governmental approved VPAM-PM test laboratory according to VPAM-PM 2007.
